IWFS Toronto is pleased to announce that our next Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be taking place on Monday, June 16th, 2025 at The Toronto Hunt Club. Originally established in 1843 as a fox hunting club, The Hunt has evolved over 180 years into a world-class, private golf club with exceptional fine dining experiences. Not surprisingly, it has also become a much-anticipated destination for our AGM’s.
Inspired by the Club’s elegant, historic facilities, your IWFS Toronto Board has planned an exquisite dinner menu that includes outstanding wine pairings. Join us on a tasting voyage where, for example, you shall experience with bone-in short ribs, two red wines of equal weight but from different providences: cult wine, Opus One (1998), AND a stunning 2010 Fattoria La Gerla Brunello di Montalcino. Also awaiting your discerning palettes are some intriguing Spanish wines. You be the judge!

AGM START TIME: 5:00 PM
RECEPTION: 6:00 PM
DINNER: 7:00 PM
DRESS CODE: Black Tie/Cocktail
MENU:
Reception:
Confit Duck Spring Roll
Shrimp Satay with Red Curry
Wine Pairing: 2021 Tenuta Cocci Grifoni Falerio Pecorino Tara
What to Expect: The 2021 Tenuta Cocci Grifoni Falerio Pecorino Tara is a crisp, mineral-driven white wine from Italy’s Marche region, showcasing bright citrus, green apple, and subtle herbal notes. Its vibrant acidity, weight, and plush fruit notes will have it doing double duty, and quite successfully might I add, with these two small-bite dishes.
First Course:
Seared Scallop
Crispy Polenta, White Wine Sauce, Maple, Seedlings
Wine Pairing: 2019 Hermos Corpinnat 2019
What to Expect: The 2019 Hermos Corpinnat is a finely crafted Spanish sparkling wine from Penedès. You can expect its fine mousse to add depth on the palate, while balancing the subtle sweetness of the dish and the overall texture of the crispy polenta!
Second Course:
Bone In Short Rib
Baby Potatoes and Sweet Potato, Charred Broccolini, Rainbow Carrots, Snap Peas
Wine Pairing: 1998 Opus One + 2010 Fattoria La Gerla Brunello di Montalcino
What to Expect: Opus One wines need no introduction; a cult wine in its own right and for good reason. This is a rare occasion to see the transformation of the California wine industry as wine production style morphed over time with the changing palates of consumers. You’ll also get a first-hand look at the ageability of a world-renowned wine. The addition of the 2010 Fattoria La Gerla Brunello di Montalcino adds to the regality of this course. We’re pouring you two red wines of equal weight, both stunning pairing options, but of very different providence.
Cheese Course:
Blue Cheese
Figs and Cashews
Wine Pairing: 2021 Dominio de Punctum Skin Contact 20000 Leguas
What to Expect: The 2021 Dominio de Punctum 20000 Leguas Skin Contact offers aromas of tropical fruit, hazelnut, and apple, with a well-structured palate.
It pairs well with fig and blue cheese because the wine’s vibrant acidity and tannic structure balance the rich, creamy, and pungent flavours of blue cheese while its fruity and citrus notes harmonize beautifully with the sweetness of figs. Moreover, it will help cleanse our palates as we move into our final and most decadent course.
Dessert:
Black Forest Molten
Served with Vanilla Ice Cream
Wine Pairing: 2019 Bodegas Ximénez-Spínola Exceptional Harvest
COST: $200 per Member
$250 per Guest
