Luc Bouchard & University Club

The IW&FS Toronto Branch and The University Club of Toronto provided an elegant ambiance for a superb tasting and dinner with Luc Bouchard a ninth generation descendent of the Bouchard family.

Bouchard Père et Fils is a French wine grower, négociant and producer based in Beaune, in the Côte de Beaune wine-growing region of Burgundy, France.

The firm was established as a cloth merchant by Michel Bouchard in 1731.

Ted Aleck was the top Chef at George Brown Collage as Selected by the School’’s Department of Hospitality and Culinary Arts.  The IW&FS Foundation presented Ted with this years award and a small stipend.

The IW&FS will be following this fine young man as he forges his second career.

Now I just had to post this, as Bill Whiteacre is an amazing individual of light heart and great knowledge of Wine, having been with the IW&FS for many years in both guidance and direction of the Toronto Branch.

Now one might consider the IW&FS to be an erudite group of fuddy-duddies who spend way too much time with their proboscis in large glass containers with wine swirling at the bottom and pontificating on the questionable merits of the Terroir.  Well, nothing is further from the truth when it comes to Bill Whiteacre QC, as is proof in the picture below.  Bill Whiteacre celebrated his eighty-eight birthday and took the Edge Walk at the CN Tower on Thanksgiving day.
